A/C issue! Help! its hot out there!
03 ram 1500, 4.7L. 92xxx miles. Have had the truck for about 2 years now, air always blows ice cold and hard. Until yesterday, when I left work, and cut the air on high. Any ideas what will cause this: A/C is on high fan, I can clearly hear the blower is as loud as it usually is, and the air coming out is cold...BUT its barely coming out...on MAX! WTF??? help please! much thanks!!!
EXACTLY the same thing happened to me yesterday and it was exactly what I had thought after searching. The re-circ door breaks off and falls on the blower. Based on info I found on the net and here it was as simple as removing the 3 screws that hold the blower (below the glove box) and reached in and removed the broker door. Now I have a powerful air flow again. My only concern is if I will have any problems since I am in fresh air mode all the time now (possible a/c freezing up on humid days or fogging windows etc) but at least its working for now as is.
No, you will just get a mixture of inside and outside air. Shouldn't cause any freezing problems or fogging windows.
The recirc door can usually be gotten to as mentioned above. When the blend door goes, the whole dash has to come out.

If its not the blend door try to take and see if your drain house is clogged. Mine did the same thing last year no air coming out on max and I stuck a piece of wire into the drain house and like a gallon of water came rushing out and viola! Full force cold air again!
'04 ram 1500 5.7 hemi. turn on A/C and all is working properly (compressor, fan motor...etc) but no cold air, just ambient air blowing out. when looking under hood, the A/C line going into cabin is frosting up and very cold. compressor is not cycling on/off. how do I test if refrigerant is is proper pressure? would a "blend door" issue this?
If the large line coming into the compressor is frosting up, not just sweating good, most likely cause is low on charge, or something is blocking the air flow across the evaporator coil----I'd guess low charge------just a little is enough-----a little more is too much---add it VERY slowly with the windows open all the way, a little rpm say 1000 to 1200, and the A/C running of couse, high fan, no recirc,----then stop just as the frost on the suction line turns to water condensate----thats enough without a proper weigh in of the charge-----if you keep adding you will increase the evaporator temperature, raise the headpressure on the compressor and eventually fry it.
