The taillights use a metal bar to run the ground and power up to all 3 bulbs. These are prone to rusting through and therefore no power or signal to one or more bulbs depending where it broke. It's a pretty cheap replacement part from the dealer. I was actually surprised.

Get the parts list & service manual in the FAQ section and you'll find more details there.

OK so i took this piece in the picture below from the Right side that wasn't working.. and connected it to the left side... I then HOOKED both taillights up and everything works on them.. I tried the LEFT wire harness on the Right side that wasn't working.. once again tried both lights and nothing.. I think my problem lies somewhere in the wires.. so... DOES anyone have the diagram or know which COLOR code the brake light is? All the other lights working.. running, blinker, reverse... just not the break light. im sure a wire is messed up before the harness.any help would be awsome thanks.

It's not a problem with the pigtail in your photo. The problem is the plastic assembly which holds the bulbs and screws into the housing. It's only 25$ here in Canada so I imagine it's only 17$ in the state.

There are bars inside this part which break. 55077343AB is the part#

You could also use this as an excuse to order some LED taillights off eBay.

This is a download site for the 2003 parts list (from Weeds signature).
The manual is a separate file this just shows parts and part #'s.

Look under Section 8 called "Wiring" and then go down to 8W-51
