Odd smell coming from ac vents

Default Odd smell coming from ac vents

Like the title says what is this odd smell coming from the ac vents, Almost smells like if you left a freezer closed turned off for a day and opened it up sort of smell lol don't no if that makes any sense or not, But it is a weired smell hard to explain it....

Nope no worries...its the old musty moldy smell from not being run. Run it for a while it should clear up if not you can look into a vent deoderizer

Could be mold built up. You need to run it for a bit and make sure that the condensate drain is open and flowing water when the a/c is running.

i have and yes it dose drain right above the control arm

Ok, that's a good sign. Does the smell go away after it is on for awhile?

I know there is a spray that you can spray on the evaporator to kill any growth on it, but I can't think of the name of it right off. I haven't checked to see how easy it even is to access the evaporator on the Ram.

Don't not It stinks so bad that i turned it off within a hour but in that hour it was there the whole time and it keeps getting worse and worse lol truck only has 33,000 miles on it I don't see why it smell likes it does

If the ac is blowing hard , cool, and draining then your ok . Im not a 100% sure id you have a in cab filter but if you do change it out and clean your coils and you should be good to go

I just spray Lysol in the outside inlet to the air system with the ac on and blowing on high, then i do the same with the recirculation on, and spray it in the inlet, mine is behind the dash glove box. It gets ride of the smell and will kill the mold if there is any.

I cant seem to find the outside inlet
