Default Problem with chime and Lamp Out

I have a question on this same issue, if the pigtail for the trailer connection is freyed and if those wires made contact with each other occasionally would that also make the chime and light come on? Thanks in advance for any help.

Thats ok. I moved the post and made him a new thread since he is new.

Welcome to the site BTW.

It would depend on what wires are touching but if it is the right ones then you likely could end up with blown fuses.

Anything electrical rubbing is bad!
Your chime and light sounds like a faulty door switch.

Resurrecting this post. I am deployed and my wife just tole me that she is getting the chiming with the brake lights and left turn signal. I have done some research and found this to be pretty common.

Fortunately, I remember having a "lamp out" issue a few years ago on the left taillamp and changed the bulb. Didn't fix it. So I did the old mechanic trick and tapped it a few times and fixed it immediately. It has been a few years and now it's back. Looks like I'll be replacing that circuit board.
