Found my IAT Sensor flopping around.
Ok, So I bought a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 V8 about a year ago....
It has run mostly great with the occasional stall when stopped but only very seldom. About a month ago... the service light came on so i brought it up to the local Advance Auto. They ran the code and the guy at the counter said it is probably an issue with the Air Charge Temp Sensor... Which by my book seems to be the IAT. I located where it said the IAT should be and found a whole that seems to be plugged. I looked further and found it hanging down on the opposite side of the engine and end of it melted where it had found something hot... I had already picked up a new one being it was only 10 bucks so replaced it and then realized that the wire was too short to make it to the whole... and i can't figure how to get it unplugged anyways.
SO, my question is.... Help what can i do with the sensor now?

Well after searching some more I found a hole in the back of the air box that is fit in... so guessing that is where it goes.... It doesn't match the book but I guess it is something the previous owner changed... any ideas of the reason for this and if this is correct.

It finally detected a big enough difference between the outside air temp and the reported intake air temp. The engine will be happier knowing the true intake temp and thus the true volume of air coming into the engine.
