Remove all badges off of the tailgate (but the rams head) and took about a half hour for me. Just heated the emblems with heat gun and pulled them off. Removed the rest of the residue with WD-40 and cotton cloth. I think the lighter fliud might be a little harsh on the paint finish. Imo...

 

Still puzzled, ive seen some dodges debadged and it looks pretty good, but i dont know why you would want to do that? Just for a cleaner smoother look? Also why would you take off the HEMI badge? People pull up next to me, and check for it. It gets you respect.

 

I think most people refer to debadging as removing the 2500 and the heavy duty badge. I wouldn't remove the Cummins badge. So the only badge left would be the Cummins or the Hemi badge.

 

I took off my Hemi badge cause it doesent look right. I'm gonna get a decal for the back on the side. Looks much cleaner and nicer.

 

I left my Hemi badges on and purchased another Hemi badge from ebay for $5 and placed it on the back of the tailgate where the large DODGE emblem is. Funny thing is, my truck is an 05 and there was no DODGE emblem at all on the back when I took delivery. Every other truck i've ever seen has this emblem and maybe mine was a mistake or maybe they just forgot to put it on. Anyway I like it like that as it just says HEMI on the left rear of the tailgate and SLT on the other side.

On the 2005 Rams tailgate...there is no "dodge" emblem....instead..the 05's have the Rams Head logo in the center of the gate.

on the 2002-2004 ram tailgates...it says Dodge on the Left and the model on the right....but they dont have the logo in the center.


I left the Hemi emblems and the Ram 1500 badges. I debadged the 4x4 and Laramie emblem on my tailgate and left the chrome ram head in the center....and i got a nice design pinstripped around the center of the rams head on the gate.

 

LEAVE THE HEMI BADGES EVERYTHING ELSE MUST GO CLEAN LOOK MUCH BETTER!

 

the heat gun method would just not work for me, it was 34 degrees celcius today, and i tried the heatgun for over an hour. i was starting to get worried about wrecking the paint. so i saturated all the adhesive with goo gone and went and played some FARCRY. went back out and they just pulled right off. it was harder cleaning the leftover adhesive off the doors than it was to get the emblems off. i took off the "ram 1500" logos and the "v6 magnum" logos. looks great now
