Default I have the same problem

I have a 05 ram 5.7 and it does the same thing. I work for a dealership and have been able to do alittle diag. I use the scanner and watched the misfire counter and found mine to only be missing on the even side 2,4,6,8 cylinders.
My next step I am going to remove the fuel rail and check for anything in it.

The next day it came back even in limp mode. So I finally caved and took it to the shop to be scanned and the results weren't pretty. According to my mechanic, the entire passenger side of the engine is not firing intermittently. He seems to think the PCM is cooked and mentioned something about a portion of the wiring harness to the PCM being burnt. I haven't seen it since I dropped it off (friday) so i'll have to see what he was talking about this afternoon. After the price quote he gave me I think i'm going to shop around for a better quote. I'm not too familiar with working on cars with such computer based issues, is a PCM change something I can do on my own? or is it pretty much a dealer only service?

Just curious as to what plugs you put in there?
I changed my plugs while changing the lifters last summer and the guy at Advance told me that the Bosch plugs were an exact replacement for my truck.
I immediately got the P0300 code after firing the truck up. It ran bad for awhile while I tried everything I could think of to try and figure it out.
Finally took it to the dealer and he called me right away to say that it was the plugs.
Guy at Advance was surprised to hear the news.
Truck runs like a champ once again.

vinman966, you said you changed the plugs and it runs like a champ. Did the p0300 code go away as well? What kind of plugs did they install?

I have a 2005 4.7 with the p0300 code. I've changed all 8 coils and plugs. I used iridium plugs. Truck seems to run fine but I still have the p0300 code.

Well I have the 5.7 and it only likes the Champions the dealer put in.
The code went away and it hasn't come back.
