Default help with door

Hey everyone. I decided to figure out why my rear door wouldn't unlock. I got it open after yanking repeatedly on the lock ****. I pulled off my panel and found that the bar that locks and unlocks the door is all messed up. First, what is that piece called? And second, how do I go about replacing it and finding a replacement part.
Thanks in advance

its called a link rod.

Download the 03 Parts Manual from my sig link and look on page 803. You didnt specify which rear door (left of right) or else i would have just posted the part numbers for you.

But look at parts 2, 6, and 7

The latch assembly is part number 1

Thanks man. I now have another problem. The door wont open at all. I broke the black plastic piece the the lick rod connects to. Is there any way to get the door open other than the jaws of life? I think I screwed the pooch on this one...

Look inside your door,I'm assuming you still have the door panel off. There should be 3 rods.inner and outer door handle and 1 for the lock on the latch.I'm sure you tried the power locks?? move the inner and outer handles while watching inside to make sure the rods are not binding on anything.I don't know if you broke the clip(cheap) or the whole latch, but see if you can find where it broke, it should pivot up and down for lock and unlock.

I didn't try the power locks cause the have been broken. I have issues with the actuator. I did swap fuses while it was parked and they unlock but don't.lock. the link rod itself is in one piece but a black plastic piece is attached to the opposite end of latch you push up and down for lock and unlock. I'll try it tomorrow. I think the piece that was messing it up was the actual rod. It would bend out to unlock the doors while I was trying to unlock it when the door panel was off. Maybe if that was the case it will lock and unlock without it. I think it was binding up not allowing the switch to flip. Thanks for the help
