Leather Seat Cover Installation Tutorial
I received my kit today and have already begun to install it, which is even more simple then I expected.
I will document my progress in this thread, feel free to ask questions about what ever step I am currently working on but please do not get ahead of me.
It took me about 1 hour to do the "40" portion of the rear seat, I will do the "60" portion tomorrow and post pictures
Here is the tutorial so far:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
REAR HEAD RESTS
[ul][*] Remove the Head Rest[*] The original cover is secured with 3 J-clips along the bottom center seem, a long clip in the center and 2 short clips to the outside of the head rest slides[*] Grasp the clips and pull them apart[*] Carefully remove the cover[*] Cover the foam head rest with thin plastic such as a Wal-Mart bag, this will help get the leather cover over the foam, partially rip the top edge of the bag.[*] Slide the leather cover over the foam and adjust it until it looks right[*] Remove the bag[*] Close the cover by inserting the flat plastic lead into the J-clip, this will take some practice
[/ul]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
REAR SEATS
Even though the Rear Seats are not the same the removal and installation procedures are.
This portion includes instructions for the optional Metal Folding Cargo Tray
Removing either Rear Seat
[ul][*] Flip the seat up and deploy the Cargo Tray[*] Use a 13mm socket to remove the 2 nuts securing the back of the tray brackets[*] Flip the tray up and use an 18mm socket to remove the 2 front sear bolts[*] Remove the tray assembly and set it aside[*] Use an 18mm socket to remove the back seat bolts[*] There are 2 hooks on the back of the seat that engage 2 brackets on the back wall of the cab, carefully lift the seat assembly straight up until it clears the brackets, then you can remove the seat assembly[*] Use a T45 torx bit to remove the 2 bolts securing the seat back to the seat brackets[*] Use an 18mm socket to remove the 4 bolts securing the seat bottom to the seat brackets.
[/ul]
Installing the leather cover to either Rear Seat Back Assembly
[ul][*] Remove the Head Rest socket by wiggling it to the left and right while pulling up[*] The original cover is secured with J-clips along the bottom center seem.[*] Grasp the clips and pull them apart [*] Carefully remove the cover[*] The leather cover will easily slide over the seat back foam so there is no need to cover it with plastic[*] Slide the leather cover over the foam and adjust it until it looks right[*] Close the cover by zipping it, [*] Locate the holes for the T-45 bolts and carefully cut a small X to allow the bolt to go through the cover[*] Attach the brackets, they will have a sloppy fit, this is normal[*] Cut 2 rectangular holes in the seat back to expose the hooks[*] Locate the head rest socket tubes and cut 2 small Xs and insert the head rest sockets[*] Insert the Head Rest and make sure it works
[/ul]
Installing the leather cover to either Rear Seat Bottom Assembly
[ul][*] The original cover is secured with J-clips along the back center seem[*] Grasp the clips and pull them apart [*] Carefully remove the cover, the foam cushion will come with it[*] The cover is attached the foam cushion with 2 rows of Velcro, slide your hand between the cover and the seat to releases the Velcro and then remove the cushion from the cover[*] Insert the foam cushion into the leather cover, make sure you match up the Velcro strips on the inside of the cover to the foam seat cushion[*] Press the cover Velcro into the cushion until it is fully engaged[*] Slide the cover and the cushion onto the seat frame as one unit[*] Slide the seat bottom into the brackets and insert the front bolts but do not fully tighten them yet[*] Install the front 18mm bolts and fully tighten them[*] Adjust the cover and fully tighten the rear 18mm bolts[*] Tuck in the corner covers and secure the cover by zipping it [*] Tuck in the excess zipper
[/ul]
Use the reverse of the seat removal instructions to reinstall either rear seat
I will post a better picture of the back seat once I remove the center console and passenger seat.

Original Seat Compared to Leather Seat

I was going to take pictures but this is so simple there really isn't anything that has to be explained by using a picture.
I mean do you need a picture of me removing a seat bolt or sliding a cover over a seat back?

Let us know how you recover the center console. I have the same kit but I haven't installed it yet. It all looks pretty easy, but I can't figure out how to get the old cover off the lid yet. Good luck.
Can you please add info to your instructions such as part number, where purchased and price?
Thanks.
Thanks.
