Default Only got out two liters of tranny oil???

I took my tranny cooler line off to pump out the oil and put fresh stuff in i did the tranny filters not too long ago. when i took the line off and started the truck i only got two liters out before it started sputtering then not coming at all so shut the truck off then put in some oil tried it again couldn't get nothing coming out so dumped a full gallon in and tried again this time maybe got 2 or 3 liters tops. so i took the pan off the bottom thinking maybe the filter fell off but it was still in place.

What is your ideas on what is happening to do that. i remember first time i did it i got alot more than two liters out of it. changed the filters while i had it apart.
also when i put the truck in drive it makes i loud clunk hope this tranny lasts me another year.

I hope when you are allowing the tranny to pump oil out you are replacing it as fast as it can pump? Do you have any oil drips in your driveway or fluid blown down the side of the tranny at all?

I think the more important question that dodgeboy asked was if you were feeding new fluid into the trans while trying to pump out the old? The trans will not pump out the old fluid without having fresh fluid being added.

it's a good way to mess up your torque converter if you let it pump dry or too low, i wouldn't personally recommend doing it this way, drop your pan and let everything drain out, then install a drain plug on the pan before you reinstall.

yep you need to be replacing old with new as fast as it comes out.. then you look for fresh fluid coming out of the lines then stop, reassemble, and recheck fluid levels.. I personally would do the flush after already dropping pan and replacing the filter/filters..

although I love the simple life.. my G238 takes two quarts of fluid and has a simple drain plug and fill plug... lol.

remember that while you guys up north use "liters" we down here use "quarts" so while 2-3 sounds like less, being in quarts it is about right for the pan

The Service Manual does list a measurement for a pan drop so I cant say for sure but no matter what you should be checking all your fluids at least once a week anyway as that is good maintenance
