Default tires/rims

i know there are plenty of posts on here about this but i was hoping to get some specific info. bought some rims (18x9) awhile back with hopes of a 4" lift and 35x12.5 18's. i haven't got the lift installed yet (it is ordered) but a got the tires mounted today. when i got them home i couldn't wait so i jacked it up and did a test fit and to my surprise they rubbed on the upper control arm. the rims are +12mm offset which i understand is a 5.5" backspace. does anyone know for sure if this backspace is going to work or not after i put the lift on or am i going to need new rims? or maybe a taller lift? im kinda freaking out here cause i've got a lot invested in this setup for it to not work. fyi its a 2007 dodge ram 1500 QC 4x4... help!!!!!

35s are going to fit without lifting it some. 4wd's are naturally higher than 2wd's so they do not need as much but they still need some

well im definitely lifting it. rough country 4" lift is scheduled to be here friday. i am just concerned about the backspacing of 5.5 since rough country states that 5 in the max. guess im beating a dead horse here. i'll just have to wait and see how it does after the lift is on. even if they don't rub im starting to think i wont have the stance i wanted. oh well as long as they don't rub i'll have to be happy with it i guess.

Well even with 5.5" BS keep in mind the offset also plays a role in how far in or out the rim (and tire) sits.
