the best alarms and security devices in the world cant stop a tow truck... its the wave of the current and of the future, no need to break in, no fuss, no muss, just hook and go. A good thief just needs a quiet HD truck and a $3500 repo unit that flops out of the bed and then lowers a couple of houses away from wherever the target vehicle is, then simply back up, flip a switch to clamp around the wheels, raise it up and take off. Easy as pie. Nobody pays any attention to this even if the alarm is going off, they just figure somebodies **** is getting repo'd and so life goes on...

truck got stolen today from my drive, I woke up at 3:30am for my midnight snack and looked out the front window (as I usualy do when I get up during the night) to see my 2005 Ram 4x4 sitting peacfully in my drive. After my snack I went back to bed and woke up at 5:30am to go to work and noticed an empty spot in drive where my truck just was 2 hours earlier. No glass no nothing!!! I live in Eastpointe just outside Detroit. My truck had under 1,500 miles on it and I just mailed my first payment. I put 16,000 dollars down on my truck, now I have to worry about them finding and fixing my truck (to never run the same again I'm sure) or dealing with the insurance giving me a fair market value which will probably be less than what I paid. The police said that these trucks are a hot item to steal and my insurance rep said that they already have a few claims in there office of the same truck! I just got back cruising the highways looking for it on the shoulder of the road, No luck. It was on empty when it got stolen with only 10 miles left of the fuel gauge. I just put mopar running boards on it last week....This sucks bad!!!1
You can pick up 2005s cheap, you may make a couple dollars.

Hurry up and look for an '05. The 05 I bought in May just got totalled, I bought a new one last week and made a ton of money on the deal. Aren't many 05's left but the dealerships are selling them cheap.

sorry to hear about your truck, I recently purchased a daytona and worried about it being stolen so I blocked it in my driveway with another car until I purchased an alarm. I know it could still be stolen but if those suckers make my alarm go off with my truck 15 ft. away from my bedroom window, it's not going to go the way that they planned. hope they find your truck soon!

I also have a 05 Daytona, and I waited 3 days to pick it up from the dealer because I couldnt get an appt. for my alarm to be put in the same day I bought the truck. So rather then have it in my drive way for 3DAYS with NO ALARM, I told the salesmen "I will buy the truck today, BUT..... I want you to hold the truck for me because I cant get my alarm installed for 3 days", he said " NO PROBLEM, ill even give you a rental for those 3 days as long as you BUY THE TRUCK TODAY" they will do ANYTHING for a sale...... So this is the alarm I had installed, http://www.auto-dimension.com/index....35&ref=froogle
Top of the line, paid $600.00..........ALONG with THE CLUB... just an added procaution. BUT like we all know if they want it they will get it. The only thing I make sure I do EVERYNIGHT is TURN my wheels, their is a brick wall next to my truck so IF a tow truck were to tow it NOT only will the alarm sound but he will have to SCRAPE it along the wall til he gets it out of my driveway.... then pull the truck SIDEWAYS down the road !!! BUT I cant see him getting to far with 2 flat tires on his tow truck after I shoot them out !!! So if any of you have a wall you park next to turn your wheels it may make them think twice.....

Nice alarm, that's the one I wanted. I ended up getting a viper 560. Did you use that sorry siren? I had the installer wire the alarm into my horn (much louder) and make the lights flash when I arm or disarm the system instead of beeping the horn.

they will do ANYTHING for a sale......

You're right about that, you wouldn't believe the deal I got.

It cost a bundle and doesn't have remote starting capabilities but the factory alarm is pre-installed and only needs to be activated to work. A tailgate slam or a good jolt sets off the alarm........LoJack is in the $500 range and carries "gap" insurance for retail replacement cost from the depreciation the insurance is willing to pay.....The way I went cost a helluva lot more than I coulda got away with, but factory stuff will never be the cause of warranty issues with the dealer.
