Hsppened to me last weekend at the deer lease. When I crawled underneath everything was gone. Rod, grommets, adjustment bracket. Had to use a hammer and piece of rebar to bank her back into four low so I could get back out of the canyon. Does anybody know if the part numbers listed earlier in the thread are good for an 05 as well? Plan on attacking this early next week. Hopefully won't need 4wd between now and then and will definently be doing the "tether" and buying extra grommets. Guess I can't complain too much, 210,000 miles and in 4wd almost every week or two for 6 years and this is the first problem.

Found myself with the same linkage problem on my 2004 Ram. Read a few of these and came up with my own "bulletproof" solution. Two 5/8 in bolts, two lock washers, and two flat washers. Using a 10in piece of 1/4 in steel as the linkage. Works like a dream. And cost me about 45 mins with parts I had lying around. Hope this helps.

Whole set on Ebay
I found this forum today after searching for the linkage after having this same problem myself today. After reading the posts on it, I searched the part number and found the whole set up, link rod, grommets and everything for $34 and free shipping... Thought I would share.

Just a correction to the clamp bolt part number JQ18077
Here are some updated part numbers from mopar.
Rod 52105555AA
Gromet- updated T/C side 5080227AA
Gromet- shifter side 52105551AB
Clamp-rod 52105212
Bolt for clamp J018077
And if you find or get a another rod from a pick and pull the gromet numbers would be 68078974AA x2 I don't know the price's, But I'm sure the dealer can tell you over the phone, now that you have the mopar numbers.
