Default Trying to figure out Bilstein shock stuff

I have 2004 1500 Ram 4x4 and I am trying to figure out which 5100 adjustable shock to order that will fit my truck. Not sure if I can use the 5100 adjustable without having a coil-spring in the front. I have looked up shock compression and uncompressed lengths compared to stock and blah blah blah...brain is fried. I need to get about 2"-3" out of the shock. I will be replacing the torsion keys to help out with the overall ride. Sick of hitting bumps and feel like I just jumped a curb.
Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks!
