Annoying interior squeak
Just picked up a 05 2500 QC 4x4 - it is certainly light years better than my old 95 Ram. Of course, when everything is good, I still have to obsess and find something wrong, and I have noticed a very annoying interior squeak. Sounds like somewhere from the center console to the front passenger area. I haven't been able to pinpoint it, its always hard. Anyone have any experience with squeaky Ram interiors? I want to bring it in to the dealer, but if I could get some ideas where to look, that would be great!
The employee plan plus $3000 made this an easy purchase. The Hemi crushes my old 318, which had 220hp back in 95. Great truck.

I have an 04 1500 and had a squeak like that finaly found it under the passenger seat where the jack is stored. If you move the seat to a certain position the squeak will stop at least it did for me. hope you find it I know how annoying it can be good luck.
Thanks for the clue - I will try to mess with the jack and seat at lunchtime. Yes - once I hear a squeak, thats ALL I hear. Its a disease. Thanks for the understanding!

Well, I tried the Jack - nope. Then I thought maybe the seatback was making noise, so I held it in place - nope. Now I am looking at the Glove Box as a possible cause, so I driving with it open. Haven't heard the squeak in a while, but I've been fooled before, it may come back.
I have also been very suspicious of the 4WD console as well, I've been holding it with my hand, but the squeak is still heard. Then again, I can't hold it tight enough. Maybe I need to remove the cover and shoot some WD40 or lithium grease on the rubber parts...
bpunk360 - I am not in at my truck right now, but I assume the rubber boot comes off with some screws, or is there a trick? Thanks!

honestly no clue i never took it off it went away by itself... when it was squeaking if i put some slight pressure on the shifter pulling it towards the driver side it would go away.... i did feel a litle play in the shifter from left to right was planning on checkin it out but it went away by itself.... but yea that would be my guess is that the boot comes off w/ the cover
Despite that this might jinx me, I think I found the squeak. I put four little felt pads on the 4 rubber feet on the glove box. The squeak is gone. That glovebox is so flimsy and loose, I am not sure how it got designed that way.
Hopefully it will not reurn. Thanks!

Not be **** about it and jinx someone else with this, but I also hear a squeak once in a while. Mine comes from the steering column. When I adjust the tilt, it leaves it loose somehow, so when I go over bumps or shift I will hear it. Dont know, but that is minor compared to my manual transmission rattle noise. New 2005 RAM go figure.
