Default 545rfe transmission pan and drain plug

Hi guys long time... I really need to Change trany fluid, but. I'm trying to figure out the best way. Im looking into replacing my pan with one with a drain plug, nothing elaborate, or installing A drain plug. What is the best way to go about this?

I just changed mine this weekend. I bought a shallow tub that was 5''-6'' wider and about a 1' longer than the tranny pan, loosened and removed all of the bolts except the 4 corners, and let it drain.
When the drainage slowed, I dropped the pan a little further until most of the fluid is out.

You can buy a drain plug at most auto parts stores for about $5 and put it in the lowest point in the pan

$5 plug works great. just use lots of rtv.

you can also use a transfer pump to get a good bit of fluid out of the pan before you drop it for the first time. This makes it a little cleaner, and you don't have to sit there and wait for it to slowly drain out the edge of the pan. I just used the cheapo hand operated pump from autozone. the hose is just long enough and small enough to fit down the fill tube and get into the pan.
