Question rear end

I have a 2003 ram 1500 with 93k on it and I just got done changing the diff fluid. While I had it open I noticed pieces of the dreaded c-clip on my magnet, so I cleaned it all out so there is no more metal in there and buttoned it up with 2qts of oil and 7oz of limited slip additive. My question is am I gonna have any problems with this rear, the gears looked fine all the teeth were fine but I couldnt find the other clip. What should I do?
Thanks
Bryan

Is the other clip still attached to the LSD by chance?

I'da made it a priority to find it before closing it back up, even if it was still in place, I'da gone ahead and yanked it.

If there are no signs of damage you'll be fine, UNLESS that lost one rears it's ugly head!!!

I completely agree with Hammer.
You must look for the remaining clips and make sure they're not damaged and sat in their "pockets" fully.
If there is a clip not fully located, it revolves around and around the main cap, cutting a deep grove into the cap and housing.
This makes fine metal shavings which destroy your seals and bearings etc.
It also destroys your axel if the grove is cut too deep. Involving the complete removal and replacement of it, costing many thousands of dollars.
I know this from personal experience.
I would do as Hammer suggested and make sure these remaining clips are fully seated by removing the pan and inspecting them.
If any are partially out, pull them and if you can the remaining ones as well. My diff ran for over 20K miles with no probs and I have read of several other people also doing this. I used this time to save up for a Detroit TruTrac and NEVER looked back lol.
Hope this help?
Al.
PS....post up what you do and find please.
