Question New Member

Just joined, not sure how all of this works, but will learn. I have a 2006 Mega cab that I love , but at the moment want to scrap it. have front end vibration or shimmy at 60 mph and can't solve it. Very disappointing, have had three other quad cabs and loved them. This mega has cost me more in repairs over two years than all of my quads combined. This is a 2006, 4x4, 5.7 hemi, automatic, 1500, with 3/4 ton suspension. I get the vibration/ shimmy from 60mph and up. This happens all the time once I hit 60, i do not have to hit a bump fot this to happen. I have had the steering knuckles replaced, replaced track bar bushing, and balanced and rotated tires several times at differant shops. Also had last two u-joints on drive shaft replaced, which solved the driveline vibration. Just bought a steering stabalizer to install Monday. All help or suggestions welcome.

Welcome to the site. Is it possible to have a bad tire? Most common issues with 4wd are the u-joints causing vibes

Welcome to the site. Yeah a lot of guys with the 2500 4x4's have had the problem that you describe. It is usually the cause of bad u-joints like weed said. Some have done the same thing that you are about to, added a steering stabilizer and were successful with getting rid of the vibration in the front end. If that doesn't cure the problem, then perhaps you have a bad tire or two.

nice truck bgbluram2, thanks for the info. I will check the u-joints again after installing the steering stabalizer. Had the rear two u-joints replaced and was thinking of having the carrier bearing checked also.
