Driver Door Lock problem
OK guys, seems like this is something of a problem for a bunch of folks.
First, thanks to weedahoe, I've now got the proper Manual for my vehicle, rather than a generic copy that was flogged on the bay... live and learn.
OK, here's my scenario:
driver door does not unlock, either from the fob, the door switch or with the door key. All other doors are fine. Looks like the linkage is stuck. I'm able to open it by reaching through the back door and pulling up on the inside door handle.
I show a Fault Code 68, which is "Driver door unlock output circuit shorted to ground or voltage".
So, I've done a bunch of checks. The switch tests fine for the resistance values. The wires don't leak to ground and test fine from the actuator connector to the door/body connectors, and from C305 to C220 under the dash.
However, I can not measure a resistance value between pins 3 & 4 of the motor (always that the motor windings would show some resistance value. So to me, that would indicate an open motor. Is this correct?
I don't have any frayed or visible damage on the wires of the C304 & C305 door/body connectors.
Strangely though, I measure 152.6 kOhm resistance from the light green wire on C220 (under the dash) to ground (G302), where the ground lead attaches. Similarily, I get 155.3 kOhm for the tan/lt.green wire to G302. I find that a bit odd.
Any ideas?
What is the test to determine if the latch assy is bad?
Thanks for your help.
Matt

Thanks.
Anyone know if the motor is "open" at rest?
I take it that the instrument panel switches the + & - voltages to lock/unlock, or is the impulse given to the wires in respect to ground (i.e.- the body)?

Thanks guys. The actuator motor unit is shot.
Looks like the local Dodge dealerships have a special on them, only CAD 114.- each.
Yup, this is Canada.Only USD 50.37 at the recommended internet We are Mopar outlet, plus shipping.

Can you guys help me as well? My driver door lock will not work with the key fob, door switch, or at 20mpg, but WILL work fine with the key manually, and door lock pull on top of the inside trim. The power window works fine. All other doors (quad cab) locks and windows operate fine. I looked at the wire harness from the cab to door and did not visibly see a break, etc. Does this also sound like the motor actuator unit in the door? What is the part number for my 07 1500?
Thanks-
