Question Rattle

Hey all,

The other day i was pulling ahead in a drive threw and i heard a rattle. *gasp*
So i started tring to figgure things out, and i am stumped. The rattle only occures when i am in drive, and when i bring my rpm up above 1.5k.
The rattle cuts out as i get closer to 2k, and does not occure when i am reversing.

I thought it could be my exhaust, but wouldn't the rattle happen at a higher rpm as well?

Any thoughts as to where i should look?

Thanks

Sounds like a heat shield either on your manifold or could be your exhaust toughing something. Everything has it's resonance at certain rpms when they "sing" the most which is why you only get rattle at certain rpms and not others. This doesn't mean it's not touching another object at those higher rpms, but more so that you can't hear it quite as well.

Most likely a heat shield as stated above. I Just ripped mine off a few weeks ago, it was only happening when i would first start my vehicle when it was cold, and then recently it is doing it around 1500rpm's all the time, so i got my metal snips and took the sheild off... No more rattle for me.
