08 ram navigation cd

Default 08 ram navigation cd

I have a 08 ram with navigation I hit the eject button to remove disc ( got a update disc) and it tells me insert DVD. Always thought disc was in there am I wrong

If it is asking for a disc, there probably isn't one in there. I've never fooled with the nav radio so I can't say for sure.

Found this information for you. Looks like yours originally did have a disk according to the information below.

Navigation system discs have been eliminated on all 2008 MY vehicles with the following exceptions:
  • Pacifica
  • PT Cruiser
  • Caliber / Compass / Patriot
  • All Trucks
The system software is loaded on the Navigation unit’s internal hard drive at the factory and system discs are no longer needed.

i had a 2008 jeep grand cherokee that i just gave up off lease it had a mygig nav system. is your's the mygig system?

If so there is a great site to get all the firmware updates. Sometimes i would get mopar disks in the mail with the updates but rarely.

if you need the site link i can try to find it for you.

most of the nicer OEM and after market head units have internal HDDs where maps are stored. I like this because that way you dont loose and/or scratch your discs.
