Question 3 codes...p0442, p0456, p0480

Checked out my uncles truck about a month ago for codes and we got those 3. I had a durango with p0442 and p0456, changed and cleaned a few hoses and changed the gas cap also...codes went away. So now were going through the same process with his. Changed a few ripped hoses and now going to get the gas cap. Hope that problem gets resolved when we clear the codes. Now for p0480...he explained that his a/c was blowing hot air and not cold. First thing I checked were the fuses...found the problem. Bought a new 30 fuse and air works like a charm. Could that have been related in any way? I've been trying to narrow down what could be causing p0480. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Its 2003 5.7 ram, got emissions this month so trying to do what we can before he can get it inspected.

This link may be helpful. http://www.bba-reman.com/content.asp..._P0480_WITH_AC

Says the code will clear after 40 Warm ups without a fail.

does anyone know which relay pertains to the cooling fan? and is the cooling fan that this code pertains to the one on the drivers side?

The relay could be shot or your condenser fan could be bad. Mine was more or less plugged up with dirt, a goodn cleaning of the motor has had it running fine for 2 summers now.

nothing yet...but we replaced the relay today and still nothing. moved some wires, checked fuses, and changed the relay...problem stayed the same so we removed the fan and the motor. fan looks fine but the motor seemed pretty rusty. checked it with a battery and it didnt work. thinking about ordering a new fan. and btw what did you use to clean the motor?

I sprayed it with wd40 and spun it by hand ( with th key OUT) to get it turning. Then when it was running I just kept spraying wd till it ran smooth. It's been good for 2 years now. There are 2 slots in the bottom where dirt collects, focus the spray there.

It may not work, it really depends what the issue is, but wd40 is electric safe. Giv it a try, it's cheaper than a fan. You can get just the fan not the full assembly, search for condenser fan and you'll see a few posts recently.

finished last week and the truck passed emissions yesterday. the relay was fine, fuse was fine, and the new fan worked. installed it and it wouldn't turn on. so we checked for voltage and such in the fuse box and everything was good from the relay to the fan. but the a/c controls werent working so we began to look for a wiring problem. we found nothing so we checked the fuses one last time and we got it! a/c controls fuse not there, it was in the spare spot after it. put it back in place and all is well. one of us mustve misplaced it after checking the fuses and relays during this whole process.
