I'm going to bet that it's corrosion on the fuse box....

Possibly, but you had went for days without it blowing, correct? So it may take a week or so of normal driving in this condition to make sure. If you can't find a chaffed wire or something, then you could throw some parts at it and hope for the best. The fuse box underneath is also a very good thing to check. Look for corrosion, bad connections, etc.

ya although recently the last 5 or so fuses have blown within minutes.. wonder if having the freon really low made a difference? although the last 5 or so fuses have been after i had it filled.. also there is still a small tail of wire i cant see very well that is directly attached to the ac condenser.cant see any problems in any of the other wiring,, pretty hard to see what it looks like under the fuse box but ill check it best i can..

Well if the wiring and fuse box check out ok, and it still has not blown any fuses with the compressor unplugged then very well may be the compressor assy itself.

new update still havent checked all the leads into the box,, i will try to find a post on how to go about that.. but i did leave the wires unplugged and it has been a year or so and the fuse hasnt blown,, but now i am trying to remember if i had the ac on the whole time,if not i am wondering if maybe there was no juice in the wires.. hmmm anyway thinking about trying a new ac clutch and compressor and see if that fixes it.. i just plugged it back in today and so far it has been running fine, maybe it wont blow again,, i love this truck and everything has ran really well for me i just wish i could get someone to re wire it from front to back.. my passenger side windows sometimes work and sometimes not but so far they always work from the driver side.. my radio comes on when i start the truck but then will play for a unknown amount of time.. usually less than a minute but sometimes for 10-15minutes or even an hour..and then shuts off sound to the speakers but the lights are still on and music says its playing on the deck.. and recently when i come off a off ramp or brake hard or sometimes just intermittenly my check gauges light will come on and all gauges are fine.. and then really recently the check engine light will come on and then the next time i start it up it will be off ..checked all fluids and all seems well so not sure what that is about, so love the truck and hate the wiring

Default Someone please figure this out

My 2007 Durango seems to have the exact problem listed here. A/C clutch fuse blows randomly. I have 4-5 ohms across the coil and the A/C can work for several days sometimes before blowing the fuse. I can find no short to ground. I plan to check freon level today but the compressor seems to cycle at normal intervals and the A/C is always cold. I also have some strange issues with the radio as well. Sometimes the station will change by 1 or 2 mHz. Just enough to lose the station from a preset. Then it sometimes change itself back! I have never seen anything like this. Has anyone out there figured out this strange occurence?
