Default Level causing steering to be out of whack?

Hey guys, I'm in need of some help here.
First off I got my 2 in level on my 2wd ram, ended up giving me 2.5 in so now its perfect level as well I got new shocks and alignment. Anyways a few days later the seals in my power steering rack blew so I had to get the rack replaced. No problem, so it got replaced and ever since then my steering alignment is just straight fcked. Like it would get aligned and then after a few u turns or whatever my steering wheel would be tilted to the right and if I did left sharp turns it would tilt to the left, get the picture? Anyways a few days ago I was in a parking cranked the wheel to back up into a spot and I head a crack, one of the bolt that holds the rack completely loosened out and I couldn't steer, ended up getting a tow to the shop that replaced it and they fixed no charge on me. The next day I took it to my actual mechanic and told him, so he aligned it properly and tighten everything, he was telling me I won't get a true alignment because of the level, he says it puts the rack out of geometric place or something, but the steering wheel should be could and you shouldn't have any problems. Well I'm driving my truck and I had to do a u turn so I cranked the wheel all the way to the left at full turn and when I started turning the wheel was moving and now its not centered and its been doing it again.
So anybody out there have this issue and resolved it? Should I take out my level? I really don't want to because it looks so nice with it on but if its causing the problem then I guess I have no choice

Thanks
David

Lot of people with coil over fronts have issues with a level, although 2" is about the accepted "safe" limit.

I'd pull the level out if for no other reason for testing purposes, although of course it'll call for yet another alignment, but then you'll know if it's the level or not that is causing your problems...

When I got it installed it was fine, steering wheel centered, aligned, all was good. Then the rack happened and its been down hill from there. I just spoke to my mechanic he says it has to be the rack that it just might be a faulty rack. He said he checked and everything was in place so, I'm hoping to get the rack replaced and if the problem continues then it might be my level and if that's not it then I dunno what else to do

It's very possible it's completely the rack, but what caused the first one to fail? Coincidence, maybe.

It's funny, but some guys go 200,000+ miles with their original rack, but once one goes, guys seem to have constant problems with their rack...

Interesting. I had a 2 1/2" done on mine almost four years ago. Had it aligned like a good boy and it's been fine ever since. When they did the alignment, they said it wasn't far off, just a bit.

I just went to my mechanic and we took it for a test drive and it magically became straight. Now after 30 mins its tilted again, I dunno if it could be the roads.
Yeah my mechanic said the level throws it off but only a tad nothing major

When you replace your rack you need another alignment!
Also, check to make sure the rack bolts are nice and tight.
Make sure the rubber bushings around the rack bolts are in good shape too.

If the rubber bushings are squashed or the bolts are slightly loose, then the rack can become twisted in certain conditions causing the truck to track crooked at some instances and straight at others.

Don't forget to go over all the mounting bolts for the leveling kit as well and make sure they are tight.
