Default differential leakage (PICS)

Good morning everyone I have a 04 ram 3500 and six months ago I started noticing the oil leakage around the front and rear differential cover holes I just want to get an idea from u guys of how serious is that, what could be the reason behind this leakage and how it should be fixed
Here’s the pic of front diff

Here’s the pic of rear diff

Regards

Just a minor leak out of the inspection/fill cover. Not a big deal. You could buy a new one so it seats tighter, but it's not even dripping doward. There is probably 6 or 7 drops that spread out to make that "wet" spot.
Now, the pics are tiny and I can't blow them up...You do have a rubber plug right? It's not rusted through?

No. See, on my 1500 there is a rubber plug about the size of a half dollar and that's in the same spot your leak is.

I meant plug in my previous post not cover.

I wouldn't bother until your diff fluid is due, which is every 30kmi or sooner if you tow alot?

Eitherway, it's a plug that pops in/out very easily. The fluid should be 1/2" below that hole so it's not like it'll be spilling out unless your on a steep incline.

you could pull the rubber plug and clean it really good and run a small bead of silicon under the lip of the plug that sits against face of the diff cover

is there a gasket or some sort of sealant that you apply after you change the oil? Its 75w-140 and 2 quarts right? Also whats a good anti friction to run?

no gasket. just use a good rtv thats oil resistant and make sure both surfaces are clean.

use 74-90 for non towing and 75-140 for towing. you need 3 qrts an ive used the lsd modifier fluids from advance and autozone. i think its 3oz per quart of oil so add the modifier fluid first
