Just to spread some knowledge that I've learned. You have to send your ECM away to have it reprogrammed. Most dealerships can update your software, but none can reprogram an ECM. I found a very reliable company in Philly, PA that reuilds ECM's for around $250. If they test your ECM and nothing is wrong, they charge a $5 handling fee and send it back. If they can't fix the problem, they charge a $75 processing fee, and send it back(I may or may not have those prices backwards...). It's a good, cheap way to test your ECM, and fix it if i needs it. The company is "Cardone" I ordered my ECM return and rebuild through "Rockauto.com". It takes 2-5 days for them to fix the ECM. They just received my ECM in the mail today!

If you just need your ECM Flashed, a dealership can do it and it costs around $70.

I'd tell your dealership about the TSB and ask if they know whether it needs re-programmed, updated, or if it even needs anything at all. They should be able to look it up by using your vin#

Thanks for the info Im going to the dealer next Tues and will give them the info on the bulletin and will see what they come up with on the ECM, my warranty lists that as a covered item so hoping that will be the case but still not sure thats the problem, I will post all info I get to help anyone else in this situation so maybe they can be spared the stealership experience!

Dealer would need to flash the PCM for you. If they run your VIN at the dealership they will be able to tell if any updates are available for your vehicle.

Default Still @ the dealership!

Well tomorrow it will be 7 days at the dealership and thankfully my warranty is covering it well not the rental car anymore but cant ask for everything, im being told they took the head and intake off and they are replacing the lifters and from what I've seen in the 2nd gen Ram forums that seems to be a common problem so I will post all the details tomorrow or the next days as soon as I have it! Thanks to all the help from everyone

I don't hear much lifter issues with the 3rd Gens, not near enough to consider it a "common" issue like in the 318s and 360s.

Out of curiosity, what octane fuel do you burn in that thing?

Default The wife is happy to have her truck back!

Well its all fixed and runing like a champ once again! They replaced four lifters and seems that was the problem, I was a little dissapointed it took them 7 days but thankfull it was covered under my warranty, going to do an oil change and switch the plugs out just as a precautionary step. Oh and for the most part I try to run 89 octane and I have never had any preignition/detonation problems. Mechanically im a fix it before it breaks kinda person and this one cought me off guard but glad its fixed and hope my situations will be helpfull to anyone else with similiar issues

Well to add insult to injury Im now having a problem with the A/C blowing warm air, I went through the basics checked the fuse and all the electrical connections all seems good so maybe its a coincidence or maybe they messed something up not sure but gonna give them a call tomorrow. Man I miss my 76 vega and 69 camaro it was so much easier and cheaper back then!
