2007 Ram QC 5.7L 4X4 rough idle and misfire HELP
Yup there was no change in the details when we pulled up the codes and its running exactly the same, it will be misfiring then you shut it down and it and restart and its fine! I got two new plugs couldnt find champions so I got autolites figured i will try that and see what happens but I really dont think its going to help. I'll post again after I change them
Crappy plugs, get some copper Champions or copper NGK V-Power plugs and it will run fine. Bosch platinums are crap and the Hemi runs best on copper plugs. That's why Dodge put them in there.
Ok just put in the brand new iridium autolite plugs I know there not Champion or NGK but they are brand new and a descent plug and guess what same problem so im left with the last resort and that is the stealership I have an extended warranty but the deductible is high but not as high as an ECM checked those out and running around 250-300 for reman ouch! Well thanks to all that helped if you have anymore input feel free not calling till tomorrow in the AM thanks
Ok got an appointment for next wk ouch, longer than I wanted to go with this problem. The new problem is I have a camping trip planned for this weekend, the camper is well withing the towing capacity and the total round trip will be minimal maybe 20mi or so, does anyone think it will hurt the engine if I pull the camper with this misfire? Ok let me know thanks
There was a TSB on the EGR sensor on some of these vehicles. Only mentioning it because in your first post you said you just replaced EGR valve. Not sure to tell if the two are related but it has to do with flashing the PCM. It the only TSB I could find that might be related.

Thanks for the info I checked the production date and it is 3/07 so I dont think this would apply to this truck, but if it did apply how would I go about erasing the PCM and reprogramming it? Also im not getting any of the codes you listed it came up with P0301 which relates to the misfire but I thank you for any help you can provide
Might want to pick up a compression tester. IMHO, no, I would not pull a camper, or drive it until I found out what exactly was going on, especially with a "knocking sound"....but that's me. I wish you the best, let us know.
