Need help to identify part

Question Need help to identify part

Hello forum people. I found this part hanging under the dash near the steering column and cannot figure what it is or where it goes. Any Ideas? only issue truck is having is with cruise control only working for 30 seconds at a time. might be related. any help is definitely appreciated. truck is 2004.5 ram 3500

Gasser or CTD? Anything after market on the truck? Cruise is likely ABS sensor related.

The truck is a diesel. No mods at aftermarket as far as I know

Looks like a servo of some kind. Not sure what it is doing under the dash.

Dimmer switch? throttle pedal position switch? Heater control switch. Brake switch to cancel cruise?

That looks like it could go to a pedal assembly for either a clutch or brake pedal, perhaps.

I agree it looks like a clutch or brake switch, which would also make the CC malfunction.
If it is your brake switch, it would also make your brake lights not work, so you might wanna get that checked out LoL
If it's your clutch switch, you would likely be able to start the truck without using the clutch.

UPDATE I got ahold of a friends alldata last night and it turns out that it attaches to the shifter cable. It is a brake park position lock switch. Keeps my shifter in park position until I hit the brake. Thank you to all that tried to help.
