Exclamation Lights issue

I have a 2002 QC that has a strange problem. When I have my lights on, and turn them off, the headlamps with turn off, but the fog lights and park lights stay on. I have to turn the switch back and forth from the off position, to park light position several times and eventually the lights will turn off. Some times they turn off then will turn back on them selves after a few seconds, and then have to do the same proceedure to get them off again. Any ideas, I think probably a bad switch, but just throwing it out there to see if someone had the same issue.

That is interesting, does it happen when the truck is running or already turned off? I know our trucks have the courtesy feature that will keep just the headlights on for a short time if you turn off the truck first then turn off the lights. I've got an 02 as well but never had that happen...
Have you waited to see how long those lights will stay on by themselves? If it's about a min I would think something is wrong with the courtesy lighting feature. If it's close to 20 minutes before they turn off then that's the battery saving feature killing the lights.

I'd be real tempted to say it's just a bad switch as well, probably the contacts inside the switch are so worn out that when you turn the dial on the front of the switch it might not be turning the electrical contacts on the backside of the switch.

It happens when the truck is running, as well as if the truck is off. If I jump in the truck without turning it on, and turn the lights on, and off they will stay on.

I would suspect the switch.

You can try and take that switch apart and ensure the internals are moving properly, and not past their stop points.

Fixed, took switch apart and found one of the brass contacts had an edge of the contact pad break away and was shorting out on two other contact pads. Took a utility knife and cut the short away. Then used emery cloth to clean the contacts. Dodge forum saves me another $200.
