Default Something Feels Broken

I have a 4x2 ram 1500 2006. When I max the steering out to the left the suspension in the front left feels really soft and it kind of dips down. It feels like it's missing a front left tire. I jacked it up and looked underneath but everything looks good...

I noticed it at a gas station 300mi from home so I had to keep going on the interstate and nothing changed in that whole trip back home.

Any ideas what I should look for?

Try turning all the way to the right and see if it doesn't do the same thing on that side.

It doesn't do the same thing on the right side. Also I checked it out a bit more tonight-

When I jack it up I can turn the left wheel independently from the right wheel. I don't think that is normal. For example I could have the right wheel straight and pull the left wheel out to a 45 and the right wheel stays straight.

Yeah that's definitely not normal, and certainly not safe at all to drive. As I first started reading your post I was thinking maybe the left shock is blown and was going to ask for the mileage. With your last post, something drastic is probably wrong with your steering rack. Also thoroughly check out the tie rods and ball joints.

** OK, I re-read all that after I've had my coffee and I don't see how the truck was physically able to drive 300 miles in that condition, are you saying that the left wheel angle is essentially "disconnected" from the steering rack and independent from the right wheel steering angle?
You have to post some pictures of this.

There was a recall on some of those vehicles for a hub and wheel bearing but I am not sure that is what you are describing with the 45 angle part. If you want to PM me your VIN I can check on TSB's and or recalls for your vehicle that may pertain to your issue.

If it were me I would have someone else out there with me while I do it to see if they can see what it is. Second option would be to take it to a shop that does front end work
