Default Ebay SS (overstockaccessories) OEM Style Nerf Bars - Bad

Edit: Not so bad . .

I recently ordered and installed the $200 "stainless steel" nerf bars from ebay / overstockaccessories.com. The bars are designed after the OEM ones, and the picture shows OEM style bars, in the OEM position. These bars are several inches lower than the OEM bars, and a little farther out.

The bars themselves are OK , and have indentations in the metal where the end caps were pushed in and then pressed close to hold them in. The mounting hardware is OK.

The add for the bars shows a picture that is misleading. The bars in the picture are in the OEM location, and show only about half of the mounting hardware, which makes the install look easier than it is.

I am trying to get a refund. Might be OK if your truck is lifted or if you are very short. I got these for my gf and dont need them myself. I was looking for something in the oem position.

I've purchased four sets of nerfs in my life. Two were Westins (one black, one stainless) and two "no-name" sets (also one black, one chrome). The Westins have always remained perfect as long as I had them while BOTH of the no-name ones were total crap. Rust, peeling paint on the black ones and pitting chrome/rust in no time on the chrome ones. Also loosening foot pads and rattling issues. I actually lost the pad on one of them on the highway, driver's side or course!

This is one item I spend the extra on and get Westins now...

The seller offered me a refund on these, but I decided to keep them. They are decent for the price. They are a few inches lower than the OEM bars, but they are strong and the mounting hardware looks solid. The look has grown on me. When you price out Westin 4" oval stainless bars, these are a bargain. Maybe they wont last as long, but maybe I will try something different in a few years if they dont wear well. The truck needs the steps.
