Ok thanks Kramer,
I read a few reviews on that part, some say the sound isn't very good. How do you find the sound with that Metra ?

Hey Boom,

Actually i am not sure what kind of head unit you are putting in but i went with a kenwood dnx6960 and just left the factory infinity system in place. I was impressed with the sound from the stock system. but everything worked as it should have fading and etc. And I had no issues with it.

Yeah my 04 only needed a regular wiring harness to include the stock amp. Seems to be the ones manufactured later in 04 that went. to the canbus crap

I installed a Kenwood doubledin in my truck and needed to get a special harness for everything to work, it was actually made by pac audio. If you want i can see if i can dig up a part number for you, but it was about 150 bucks but everything works perfectly
I am currently trying to install a Kenwood 2 din into my 2004 dodge ram and am having the same problem. There is no sound coming form my speakers... Could I get that special harness part number from you by chance?

Default Similar Problem

So, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 that I decided to install a 2 din Kenwood stereo in. I have done this several times before with 1 din stereos in 3rd generation Ram Trucks. This time, after everything is wired per the directions I am able to power up the head unit but get nothing out of the speakers. I am not sure if my truck has the infinity amp or not but I wired the blue auto antenna wire to my red power wire. Does anyone here know by chance if something is required to be wired differently or did I make a common mistake? Thank you all in advance.
