K&N Intake...Crap?!?
I installed my K&N Generation 2 Intake a couple weeks ago. The check engine light came on after I put it on so, I disconnected the battery and the light went off. A week went by and it came on again so i did the battery again. Yesterday I installed my Hypertech and I figured it would never come on ever again. Today I came home from work parked my truck and went inside. About 5 minutes later I go out to get some dinner, when I start the truck the check engine light came on AGAIN! So my questions are: 1. Are K&N Intakes ****? Is my install ****? Or is my Hemi ****?[:@]
cold be several factors involved, you could have damaged the sensor trying to plug it back into the new FIPK2 tubing, or you could have over saturated the filter causing the filter to restrict too much air, or fouling the sensor. I haven't delved too deep into the intake so it is either a Mass Air Flow sensor or a Air temp sensor. Just my .02 someone else will probably jump in and berate that.
I think you might be right on about the Air temp. I live in Florida so the engine gets hot as hell. I raced a f-150 and was doing 100 mph before I got home. If I hurt my truck...it was worth it cause I shat allover the f-150. hahahahahaha...But anyway I'll check out the O2 sensor and ****...Damn...more work!
Your HEMI aint the ****. it would have to be the k&N thats the ****. there hyped up but i wasn't happy with my k&n filter at all. Im ready to return it. "HEMI the unbeatable engine." www.hemi.com
Have you even looked up the code when the light comes on? This would tell you if its your sensor or not.... Just resetting it without knowing what the code is will not help you figure out what the poblem realy is. So get the code the next time it does this and POST it!
