Hey I am new to this site and have read a lot of threads on here about swapping the 4.7 out for 5.7. But its been on all older dodges. I have a 4.7 w/ getrag 238 6 speed 4x4. I want to swap for a 5.7. I know they will bolt together. just need to know what i need as pcm or other electrical stuff and if i put a 03 5.7 in out of a manuel truck if that would work. thank you for any advise.

 

The 06 is CANBUS so you will need a donor truck with the cluster, harness and PCM.

 

This might be a stupid quition but what is CANBUS system and what does it do? And why would i need the cluster, harness and PCM?
