Default 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi check engine light

Ok so long story short was driving the other day and my check engine light pops on...I take it to my local auto parts store so they can plug into the car and see what the light is for...comes back as "random cylinder misfire" and "o2 sensor front driver side"....and at idle the truck would start shaking real bad...thought the engine was about to fall out... So I figured the easiest thing to do would be change the sensor and spark plugs...I bring it into Firestone they change the spark plugs and put a mopar o2 sensor in...light still won't come off...

Does anyone know of anything it else it could be? Anyone experience this before?

I will appreciate any feedback to any possible solutions

Thanks

They may have installed the wrong plugs.
Hemi's use ONLY copper plugs. Most on here prefer either stock champs or NGK V-Powers.
Check the plugs again. If they are platinum, ditch 'em and get some coppers.
Also, how many miles does the engine have on it?
You may need to clean your throttle body too.

Welcome to DF.

Well, with that much mileage, you were overdue for a tune up anyway.
30k mi intervals are recommended. Firestone prolly just changed the plugs and 02 sensor, didn't clean the TB. Check the TB too.

Well I bought the truck used in march....so don't know if it was done before...firestone is saying there is a short circuit grounding out somewhere...they are trying to track down the wires...they replaced the o2 sensor with mopar and they used Copper plugs...they just say short circuit somewhere

You might check the coil packs. One of them might be messed up.

06,

If you want to PM me your VIN I will check for TSB or recalls on your vehicle. I know that there was a PCM flash that was available for some of these vehicles that was displaying MIL incorrectly. What codes did it throw? I can check to see if your vehicle ever received these updates or if any others are available.

ok so Firestone couldn't find or fix the problem... picked up the truck and took it to my local dodge dealer... After leaving it there for 2 hours the service advisor called me and told me my 02 sensor was bad and that my water pump was almost cracked and needed replacing... does that sound like something that would cause random cylinder misfires? Those 2 repairs are costing me $750.... I just want to make sure by doing that the problem will be fixed

Question

How is the water pump "almost cracked."
