brake line fittings question
I have to replace the brake line running over my gas tank from front to rear. It is TOTALLY rusted crap; can't insert a new piece. My question is regarding the fittings. Does anyone sell a kit with all fittings needed so I can buy a long length of tubing, cut/flare/install it in one piece? Not sure of exact fittings I need. I know it is 3/16" line. I have a 2002/2500/4wd/5.9L gas. Thanks!
There are too many variations between manufacturers and product lines to make a kit that would suit your needs. I'm fairly sure you will have to buy the fittings separate. Chrysler sells the break line pre bent with the fittings attached, or at least they used to.
thanks. the last thing I want to do is buy more cheap steel tubing from Chrystler. I found a place on-line [fedhill] that sells a copper/nickel alloy DOT aproved brake line tubing and a nut kit that should work ok. I can try to clean in my ultrasonic cleaner the original nuts, but if not, I'll compare to those in the kit and use them.
