Default Hard shift around 45 to 50mph

My 07' 5.7 1500 has been shifting hard at around 45 mph on the up shift. When it shifts you can hear a clunk, you can feel it driving. It has been to the dealer, "have warranty" twice now for this issue and all they say they are doing is flashing the trans. or re-learning it. It does seem to help for a little while but it will start shifting hard again after around 100 or so miles. There are no codes showings. The truck runs great other than that. Has anyone herd of or had the same problem? Thanks

Sounds like the transmission is already starting to go, if it's slipping already. Maybe the dealer probably just doesn't want to have to deal with that much involved transmission work?

It is not slipping, just shifting hard onto overdrive. It shifts great up until overdrive. I hope the tranny is not about to go, it has only 26500 miles on it and from what I have been reading here they seem to hold up fairly well as long as they are maintained. I do agree with you about the dealer though.

Oh ok, I get what you're saying. I have no idea then.
Did you bring it to a local mechanic to get a 2nd opinion. I believe that the local mechs will tell you straight-up how things are will no bull, opposed to big-named companies and dealers.

OD clutches maybe on the way out but would burnt fluid be one of the first symptoms? cause i am assuming the fluid and levels are OK

I would think burnt fluid would be a red flag, all good, levels are OK. I just had the Trans. serviced 3000 miles ago. I had it done hoping to remedy this problem. Of course I had the dealer do all the work so who knows what they did or didn't do. " I am not trying to knock dealers or their mechanics, so nobody get their panties in a bunch." I am taking it to a different garage next week with a pretty good trans. guy. It just sucks having to with the warranty and all. If there is anymore info guys I would surly like it. Thanks guys.

I'm having the same problem with my 2006 quad cab 1500slt 4x4. Drives fine with the OD off... Shifts hard with OD on between 40 and 45 MPH... No problems above 45 MPH either way. The local transmission shop convinced me that it was a pump issue so I had the transmission rebuilt... new sensors, solenoids, clutch plates, torque converter, shift kit, etc. Did not solve the issue!
