I have an 03 1500 with a hemi and over the last couple of weeks I'm getting a very hard downshift just as I come to a stop.
I discovered that it only does it when I've gone into OD and then to a stop.
I took it off OD and the clunk or hard shift was gone.
So it only does it under regular driving when the OD is always on.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Has fresh trans service and drives perfect otherwise.

Almost sounds like something to do with the lock-up of the torque converter???

Any codes?

 

no codes and just had the TCM reprogramed, same problem.
