Go to Lowes and get you a set of Grab-Its. I haven't had a snapped bolt yet that they didn't get out. The key though is to NOT mess it up with anything else first though. These things are all of about $20 for a set of three different sizes and you'll use them time and again.

Follow the instructions to the letter. You use one side to hollow out a hole and then flip it and the other side grabs the inside of the hole and twists the bolt right out...

I've used a BFH and a hammer to spin out broken bolts

Go with the Grab-It's. I've used them a few times and they work pretty good. Also , this is gonna sound like a no brainer but wear gloves and eye protection when you use those. The metal shavings are something fierce

I have a set of extractors just like the ones Hammer (+1 to you hammer) suggested when I had a broken shock bolt. Worked like a charm. The key is to make sure you get a starter hole going with a small drill then step up a tad and use the extractor. Screw in until tight and back it out. Be careful not to give it too much force, you can break the extractor (Which I did) Ended up spending another 30 minutes trying to get that out. If you drilled and almost got into the threads you might still be ok if you re-thread. Good luck. Wanna show us a pic?

if you mangle the threads in the body you will need a tap and dye kit to smooth them out. Take the bolt down to the hardware store to find out what size it is.
