Idling problem and thumping sound
Okay, so I had a previous thread that talks about how my car ran beautifully before Pepboys worked on it. Now, after getting it back, the car either shuts off when stopping or sounds as if it will shut off. Idle fluctuates low, then high. Also, when switching from revers to drive and vise versa, the idle fluctuates low, then high. This is a 2007 dodge ram 2500 5.7L Hemi. In the previous thread it was suggested that the IAT was maybe damaged. I figured I'd make another thread because today, I had the music all the way off and as I was backing out of the drive way, I could hear something making a "thumping" noise under the hood. It's pretty quite and you have to listen for it closely. Oddly enough, I only hear it when backing out of the driveway which by the way is on an incline and not flat like the roads here. Could this quiet thud be related to the idle problem? This is something I did NOT hear before I took the car to pepboys... They really ****ed my **** up man...
