Default p/s leak again

Hey

i have a 2004 ram 1500 5.7l HEMI, about a month ago i had both the rack and pump changed, 3 weeks later the pump blew so i replaced this along with the ps pully too. everything was and still is running good however this morinign i noticed a small puddle under the truck i got under and again there is fluid from the rack. its under the drivers side there is like a cylinder i guess where all the hoses are and also a little more under the car i can see fluid around a seal. i have it booked it to get it looked at tomorrow at the shop but anyone got any ideas? i hope i dont have to have the rack replaced again i dont have the money. i love the truck but with all the issues i have had since buying it i am beginning to regret it.

thanks

Seen a LOT of remanufactured racks leak from a seal almost from day one. Sounds like you got one of 'em...

My dad had a reman rack put in his truck, it lasted 10 months.
Started with a dead spot in the steering, took it in and long story short it needed a new rack.
Shop put in another reman rack, when the tech took it out for the test drive, it blew up on him.
Shop put a brand new rack in the truck and it has been fine.
My dad lost his truck for a week (parts issues with the dealership and the local shop), but hey, he didn't have to pay the $660 ticket.

can the seals be repaired or is it just a new rack replacement? is it only the dealer who will replace with a new part?
