Default 2005 1500 Intermittent blower fan

About 9 months ago, I noticed that my blower fan would not blow out onto the floor when I turn the selector **** to "Heater". The most it would do is mostly blow out the defrost vent and a little on the floor. Then it started not blowing anything at all. I noticed that when I fiddled with the key in the ignition, I could get the fan to blow. Now, after starting the truck, I have to turn the key to the first click towards off to try and get the fan to turn on.
I replaced the starter switch (I think that's what it's called) the black module on the left hand side of the steering column. I got my blower fan to work, except for the half and half blowing out the floor/defrost vent while on "Heater", and I thought I had everything fixed for about 2 days until my windows quit working. I put the old switch back in so I could have my windows again but now it's getting colder out and I need to find a solution. I've searched online and can't seem to find anything like this problem. Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Thanks

Strad

if you have to jiggle the keys to get the fan to work then thats a dead giveaway the ignition switch is the culprit

Thank you for your response. I replaced the ignition switch. The fan blows like it's supposed to now but now my windows don't work. Actually, the windows worked for about a day, now they don't work. No "jiggling" of the keys gets them to work either. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

the solder joints in the master window switch are either loose or the contacts in the switch are bad. I think there is a DIY in the link in my sig. Check there and see if that resolves your issue
