That's a relatively small tire at about 32" x 10" and would fit with no problem whatsoever, to me they'd even look a bit too small after a level install.
I'd shoot for something closer to 33" x 11" with a level and stock rims, which would equate to about a 285/70/17 tire if it were mine...

I have to agree with HammerZ71, I think it would look silly with 255's, even if it is a "75" profile. What are you trying to accomplish, keeping the final ratio as close to stock as possible?. The factory 17's look small all ready on a RAM (Dodge 1500).

And if they're like the stock Goodyears, find something with a better tread too!!

thanks everyone I might have to step up to some 20s bc it has too much room with the stock 17s. but if I stay with 17s im gonna have to go with hammerz71 idea on bigger tires. and im just trying to get bigger wheels or tires on a budget..

if you stick with the 17s i highly recommend 285\70\17s. i had this size on my stock 17s and loved them. i had the bf goodrich all terrain t\a. they lasted 70k miles or so and still have some life left in them. great tires, just giving you some ideas.
