Default Horsepower??

Hey im new to the forum and was just wondering what else could I do to my truck to increase power?
04 Dodge QC
5.7 Hemi, Cold air intake, Jet Module Stage 1, Throttle body spacer, Magna flow Exhaust, Royal purple oil!!

Isn't there something with the plugs or wires? They are still stock.

DONT replace the factory ignition wires or spark plugs.

the Mopar ignition wires are Very very good as they come....mopar makes some great stuff.

The only time I would step down with the plugs is if you do a custom tune or add nitrous or a supercharger/turbo....otherwise...the plugs are fine for stock or simple bolt on parts (exhaust, intake, headers, etc.)

you could rip off that jet chip and just add a 50-75 shot of nitrous if you want...
that jet chip is good for hardly anything.....as is the hypertechs and all.

Good/worthwhile mods for the hemi include:

Intake, Exhaust, headers (long tube), new y-pipe with high flow cat, and possibly a small shot of nitrous or a supercharger setup at around 6-7lbs boost if you go that far. (but if you add a supercharger, nitrous, etc....you cannot use a handheld programmer or plug and play chip....you need the stock tune or a custom tune) programmers increase timing whereas with nitrous you do not want to do that but rather retard timing.

I just read a thread at another place that said if you go to the dealer and tell them that when towing things your truck moves from gear to gear like it's searching or hunting for the right gear they can "flash" your PCM. A lot of people had replied to the thread and sucessfully done this, said it really brought their hemi to life. Gave them a lot more power. Too bad I don't have an o4 with a hemi....

This is not the thread, but an explanation of the problem/resolution: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2004/18-041-04.htm

You wanna make real power?

Nitrous, turbo or supercharger, period.

Bingo, kenihemi... that says it ALL!

If your plugs are the appropriate ones and they and the wires are in good shape, new will give you nothing, but will help the parts supplier--buy that summer home. I've seen numerous tests of various "magic" plugs and wires, tested by different magazines, both car and motorcycle and they just don't perform significantly differently. In fact, as pointed out in one review, there are but a small number of plug wire manufacturers; but, many buy from them in different colors, print their name on them, package, and sell as uniquely their own product.

All the best.
