Default 2008 Ram lift questions?

I'm looking at putting a suspension lift in my already stock 2008 ram 1500. Thinking of going with 33" tires. Don't want to go too big with it because i'm still loading stuff in and out of the box all the time. Not too familiar with what I need to do this. Talking to some guys they said an extra leaf in the rear and a leveling kit will be good enough for 33s. Wondering if I have her leveled out and have a bike of skidoo in the back, will that slant the front up to high? Wondering what the best way to go about this lift is and if anybody has a helpful info that be great. Also if you know of any sites that have good info let me know. Can't seem to find a whole lot besides ads really.

First and foremost, the RAMs with stock 20's have 33" tires, so you don't need to do any modifications whatsoever to mount 33" tires.

Second, is it a 4x2 or a 4x4? The options for lifting the front of each are different. For the rear, shackles and/or blocks are pretty popular, but what you need depends on how high you go in the front.

She is a 4x4 and came stock with 17s with 270 70 R17 tires which are about 31.9". I guess 35" is always an option too but like I was saying don't want to go to huge.

I have an '07 1500 4x4 with a 2" level lift and fit 35" (315x70R-17) tires no problem.

If you are going to level it, stay at 2". Much more puts the CVs at really poor angles, weakening them significantly.

I had the same problem when I installed my 4" lift. With my toolbox, my 700# ATV was sitting with ALL it's weight rearward of the back axle, making my front end point ridiculously skyward. A set of $200 air bags in the bag fixed it - big time!

Just watch your tire width more than height. The coil-over, IFS front 1500s don't leave much room for wide tires - ESPECIALLY WITH STOCK WHEELS. 11.5" is about it if you want full lock with no rubbing...

If its a 4x4 you could probably just do Bilstein 5100 shocks up front and the Monroe Load Levelers in the rear to compensate for the sag. Or air bags in the rear and 5100's all around

Im interested in doing this too. So the Bilstein adjustable shocks will level the truck? Does it increase your CV or balljoint angles very much?

Yes. Anything short of an actual suspension lift will put the CVs at a bad angle. It will be liveable but front end parts will wear faster as with any lift
