Default Got a New truck and I have a few questions about performance mods

Okay So my parents bought me a 05 4.7L Dodge ram. Which I love its a great truck. Iam just wondering what kind of performance mods I can do to it. Heres my list so far

Dual Exhaust
Cold Air Intake
Computer Chip (When its out for my engine later this year).

Thanks,

Thats a good start, im pretty sure if you just want some adequate mods, that is a good setup, you might also want to consider maybe a throttle body.(although im not sure if they make them for the 4.7

But if i were you i would go with this.

Intake : KNN with heatshield
Exhaust: Magnaflow (good power, nice sound, not overly loud)
Chip: Hypertech

Thats a good start, although all this will run you apporx. 1000-1200 bucks.

For the amount of money you have to spend to get real performance from a gas truck, I'd concentrate on appearance and leave performance alone. What do you want to do in your truck that you can't do already?

You want performance?

Nitous, Tubro or Superchager.

That other stuff is garbage.

BTW the reason Iam wanting more power is because were I live their are many steep grades some about 5-8 % and when Im towing something it takes alot of power to go up them hills without losing speed.

Thanks Btw

jordanp123 Welcome to Dodge Forum. The mods you've listed will get you a bit of an increase. A performance TB can't hurt either. here's a link to a site sponsor who may be able to help you with a TB.http://www.fbthrottlebodies.com/

Like kenihemi said a turbo or supercharger goes a real long way, but are costly and are often more than what some people want. Judging from the mods you listed, you're loooking to make increases measured in 10's rather than 100's.

Good luck with your choices.

Tell your parents to take it back and get a Hemi! j/k But if your gonna put all your money into a supercharger or turbo...you might as well start off with a bigger engine. But hey, if your like your truck the way it is thats cool too.[sm=gears.gif]
