Default Need some advice regarding gear oil (synthetic or not)

I am changing the front differential oil in my 2003 1500 with the C205F front axle and in the manual it says it takes Mopar gear lubricant 75w90. I have 2 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic LS 75W-90 and am wondering if it would be okay to use. The only non-synthetic stuff I could find was from Coastal but I wanted to use the same brand in both axles. Does anyone know?

THANKS!

Synthetic will be fine in there, Sense the front end gears are turning all the time, 4X4 engaged or not, you might see a tenth or so improvement in mileage.. First we lost locking hubs, then the central axle disconnect, now we have everything spinning all the time....wonder how much extra fuel is used with everything turning up there???

Synthetic is never bad. It just keeps its rated viscosity through more of a temperature variance.

Dunno about the '03, but my '04 specs synthetic fluid. Any name-brand synthetic of the proper viscosity is fine...

My 2004 specs dino in the front and synthentic in the rear. When I change the oil, I put synthentic in both. 45k and no issues.

There is not enough room for me to access the top bolts on the front cover to get them out, let alone torque them back when I'm done. My truck has the C205F axle and there is this part that is directly in the way (I'm not sure what it is yet but it sits kind of above that hose that goes into the cover) and all around this bolt... so as of now, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the front differential. Crappy design that's for sure.

Ahhh the sweet smell of victory! I was able to access the bolt by removing the plastic "oil spill guide" piece that is bolted up underneath the oil filter. This gave me direct access to the front of that bolt. What a relief.
