Default Antifreeze leak somewhere.

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 engine. I can smell antifreeze . I can't find the leak. It takes about 3 months before I have to add to the overflow bottle and I don't see any drips on my driveway. When I was changing my oil filter there was a couple drips of antifreeze on the outside of it. Any idea where this could be comming from? The heater hoses appear to be ok.

Check around the thermostat gasket, these have a tendency to dry rot and crack over time and would cause the smallish leak you describe...

check the tanks on the radiator too, I had a similar problem with an old 5.2 Dak I had, just a tiny weeper that drove me crazy until I pressurized the cooling system and watched it start leaking out
