Sorry to hear, but rotors fall under maintenance items and 12,000 miles your on your own. Everybody on this forum needs to know that after 12,000 miles when your rotors warp you have to go with aftermarket rotors for sure, the factory rotors are junk and it seems their staying with junk, cause they know there is a problem. A lot of people are going with Powerslot rotors, and Baer brake pads. I know I will be soon. Mine warped at 25,000 had them turned just to get a little more time out of them.

Ive read too many mixed reviews on powerslots... and my friend that has them on his TA, says they are junk. The slotted and drilled rotors are junk too. The drill holes dont do any good except make more dust. This all came from him.. thats why i went with what i did.

HA you hemis guys must be on and off the them brakes as much as your on and off the engine huh?. I was really worried about this when i was buying my heafty diesel but the brakes stop pretty good. I had crossdrilled on my cherokee and they were awsome. i could still lockup my 33" swampers. anyhow i have read about guys getiing 40 even 60k out of qa set of pads and no rotor problems. anyhow these dont feel like they would stand up to several hard stops like my jeeps did. so i ave been looking for replacments for a while now. you 1500's can check out stillen. i beleive they have an upgrade rotor caliper package but its pricey. I am personnaly waiting for wiwood to release their kit for us 8 lug dodge owners liek they did for the 8 lug chevys and hummers. !6.5" rotors with 6 piston calipers! They truly require you to have a 20" wheel! mmmmmmm. balance out the stop and go!

23K and no problems with my rotors so far with the Ram. My work car (Mercury) is another story. I draft my way through St Louis rush hour twice a day and need to turn or replace the rotors about every 15 - 20K. Rotors are consumable maintenance items that wear out. I think how fast depends mostly on driving habits and driving conditions.

Mine warpeed at 14k.

I got the "12k brake warranty" BS from the dealership at first too. I told them I never had that explaned to me, and that I was told the warranty covered everything but the electronics. They said Rotors are maintainence items. I asked them how long the rotors should last and they said well beyond 30K. I then told them about how everyone on here complains about warped rotors and that I understand they can't warranty things like oil, brake pads and rotors, but since I had just got the truck less than 2K ago I expected a little more out of them and that 14k for a rotor is BS either way.

Rotors were replaced free of charge and I got an oil change out of it.

When they warp around 28k I'm gona go aftermarket.

I can understand them not giving a warranty for rotors for lifetime.... but if this many people are having problems then obviously something is wrong....

Just after I bought my qc 4x4 hemi 04 I found deep grooves in my right rear rotor. I took it back to the dealer at 3,000 miles for an oil change.I told the dealer and they said that it was normal wear. at 6,000 miles I took in my truck for an oil change, this time I told him that my left rear rotor had deep grooves in it. he changed the oil and said the grooves are normal wear. so at 8,000 miles I made up a story and told them that my front wheellers were pulling when I hit the brakes... Thought i may get lucky and have my rear brakes fixed. it didn't work, They said that my front rotors were 30 per cent out of round and replaced them. Still having deep grooves in my rear rotors. at 9 ,000 miles. At 11,000 miles I will hit them with the lemon law.

For the Lemon Law to work they have to make so many attempts. If I have 1 more problem out of my 1 year old Explorer, I'm going to persue the Lemon Law. The only Ford in my wife's family to have any problems.

I have read each of these posts and have found something interesting, maybe it is nothing but most of you that have had this problem have an 04 ram, maybe that year had some deflect or something. i have an 02 ram--30K no problems at all.

from what it seems you 1500 guys are having some problems here.

my 2500 has over 20k on the ticker and she has yet to go back to the dealership for anything. I do need to make an appointment and have the weatherstripping replaced soon. its been eaten up by the doors, the passengers side is especialy mutilated. and yes there is a TSB on this. crappy designing caused this[:@]

I just hope I dont get bitten by the ball joint bug[&:]
