Yes the new one I bought from the dealer is different. If you want, tomorrow I can take a pic of my new one and put it on here so you can see what it looks like. They basically redesigned that spot so the corner of the door doesn't rub on it.

I've been toying with shelbymopar's method as I have the same noise. I took a real good look at my front doors and roof line and no kidding, my driver's front door top edge is a few mm taller than the passenger one. I even measured it! Bending might work, but I think the gap between the hood/fender/door could be covered and cut the noise down. I taped over part of it on a road trip but the end part was flapping so I couldn't really tell if it improved. I wish I'd taped the whole thing to hear the difference.
